Nous sélectionnons à la main des espaces en plein air qui ont besoin de notre attention et de nos soins collectifs. En les désignant comme Spotlights, nous mobilisons la communauté locale pour qu'elle se mobilise, joigne ses forces à celles de Leave No Trace et ait un impact significatif sur la revitalisation et la protection de ces lieux spéciaux où nous nous détendons, apprécions la compagnie des autres et améliorons notre santé physique, mentale et émotionnelle. 

La Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area a été sélectionnée comme Spotlight 2024 de Leave No Trace. L'équipe itinérante Subaru/Leave No Trace sera présente à la Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area du 27 au 29 juin et collaborera avec les hôtes et les partenaires à divers programmes, notamment des projets d'intendance, des ateliers et des activités de sensibilisation de la communauté.

Thursday, June 27: Introduction to Leave No Trace Skills & Ethics, 1:30 -3:00 pm, Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), Dingman’s Ferry, PA

Join Leave No Trace for this interactive workshop open to staff, partners, and the public. Learn all about Leave No Trace principles and guidelines and how to minimize our impacts whether hiking, paddling, fishing or enjoying other activities at Delaware Water Gap, all your favorite local parks and natural areas, or in your everyday life. RSVP/Advance sign up is required.

Friday, June 28: Volunteer Stewardship Project, 9:00am – 12:30pm, meet at Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), Dingman’s Ferry, PA

Join Leave No Trace, and park rangers for a unique and meaningful volunteer opportunity. This volunteer project involves the removal of an abandoned PVC (plastic) water line within the Camp Hidden Falls section property. Once the site of a scouting camp, the 1,050-acre Camp Hidden Falls is now a lesser-known part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and—as the name suggests—is the hiding place of multiple waterfalls!

Please join us for this exclusive opportunity to clean up Camp Hidden Falls and be introduced to the principles of Leave No Trace. An optional guided hike will be provided by former Girl Scouts of Camp Hidden Falls, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. RSVP/Advance sign up is required.

Saturday, June 29: Leave No Trace Pop-up Education & Outreach, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, Kittatinny Point Visitor Center, 3 Highway 80 W, Columbia, NJ

Join Leave No Trace and National Park Service staff for engaging and family-friendly outreach and education, meet the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team, and play quick games and activities to learn more about Leave No Trace and how to protect Delaware Water Gap and all your favorite outdoor spaces.
